Mesu-Mount 300


The Mesu-Mount 300 is a scale up development of the Mesu-Mount 200. The Mesu-Mount 300 has 300mm friction wheels with the same driving mechanism as at the Mesu-Mount 200. The main difference with the Mesu-Mount 200 is that this mount is meant for bigger telescopes. Optional can the Mesu-Mount 300 be equiped with two absolute Renishaw encoders. These encoders each give 67.000.000 pulses per rotation, which gives an accuracy of 0,02 arcseconds/pulse in right accession and in declination. Absolute means that each pulse holds information about the position of the pulse in contradistinction with incremental encoders, used on the Mesu-Mount 200, which just count the pulses. With absolute encoders the position of the telescope is directly know after switching on the mount, the mount doesn't need alignment each time it's switched on. With this mount it's possible to track "diffraction limited" with an 50cm telescope. The resolution of the telescope and the seeing will have more effect on the tracking accuracy then the tracking capabilities of the Mesu-Mount 300. The whole system will be controlled by the Sidereal Technology servo controller II of Sidereal Technology (USA).
